Explorer Scouting was established under the new programme, launched nationally in 2002, to replace Venture Scouting, and membership is open to young people (male and female) aged 14-18 years. An Explorer Unit was recently established in Gilnahirk, under a partnership agreement between 27th and 30th Groups and currently has about 8 members meeting at St.Dorothea's Church Hall. New members and leaders are very welcome to come along any week to find out more about the activities on offer. Ross and Adam, two members of the Gilnahirk Explorer Unit are currently helping with 30th Pack while undertaking service awards.
