Farewell to Rhoda:
Rhoda Sharp recently retired as Secretary to the District Appointments Sub-Committee, after a truly unique record of service to our District. Rhoda’s contribution to Scouting in East Belfast has spanned some 60 years, during which time she served as ACSL and then CSL at 28th and 47th Groups, District Secretary, County Cub Scout Representative, Founding Member of East Fellowship (along with Ernie), District Sports Committee and latterly the District Executive Committee. Over the years, Rhoda also worked part time in the Scout Shop and always had a warm welcome for the new Leaders she’d met at Warrant Interview when they ventured into the Shop. Every boss and manager thinks that their secretary is simply the best.around ...but in East, Rhoda really was second to none! For many of us over the years, Rhoda has become an institution, and we can remember fondly her role in introducing us to Service in the District when we turned up for our first Warrant Interview. Thanks for everything Rhoda, we wish you a long and happy retirement ..please do keep in touch.
